How To Make Tech Trash Bounce

June 27, 2014

Recycled-phones-web1A NEW SERVICE offering cash for old and unwanted mobile handsets has launched in NZ.

Called Bounce Mobile, the service – already running in Australia and Singapore – offers consumers cash for their disused phones.

Essentially a recycling programme that provides an incentive to declutter homes without adding to the mountains of inorganic waste at our landfills, Bounce Mobile, run by Brightstar, encourages people to visit their website, where they can get an idea of likely remuneration for their handset model.

The handsets are generally sold into other markets after refurbishment, especially underdeveloped nations.

How does the service work? Find your model handset on the Bounce Mobile website, enter address details to get a free courier bag in the post, enter user profile info, and the bag/phone is collected. The handset is appraised, valuation confirmed, and payment processed within five working days.
