I've spent the last 12 months updating my whole system. Best purchase is the Audiolab 8200CDQ. I play a lot of uncompressed digital music via my ipod through a Wadia 171i and the sound is top class. Also functions very, very well as a Pre-amp and CD player. All in one box at a very reasonable price!

My long term plan is to have an all Kiwi made system. I'm starting with cables and would be keen to hear members opinion of Antipodes (Komako XLR) and Slinky Links XLR?????

In addition to the Audiolab and Wadia gear I have a Rotel 1080 power amp and Wharfedale Jade 7 speakers.

Cheers

I'm with you regarding the 8200CDQ, it's a stunning piece of hardware for very reasonable money. I've got the 8200 monos as well and they make a super combo.
Best purchases this year?
Er, there are a few...
Audiolab 8200CDQ/8200MB's
Oppo BDP95
Onkyo TX-NR3009
Antique Sound Labs DT1 pure / WAVE AV8 Mono's.

I gotta say the 8200CDQ is my fave!

A 'to do' DIY project I'll have to do at some stage is a turntable build. I'd try to keep the faith and make it an all-kiwi affair, meaning either a Wand or an Analog Instruments Apparition Apparition from James (Omegaspeedy).
Or I could try an Audiomods arm, they look pretty trick and sq is excellent :D

DO IT!

Best value for money recent purchase, a plastic armboard for The Wand. Against all wisdom and advice the plastic aka acrylic, won hands down over the conventional theoretically better wood.

Great system Zero!

Have you tried any other phonostages? I think your system could easily highlight any merits in other phonostages.
