I wouldn't have known there was a new speaker unless you'd mentioned it!

I suspect that giving Chris a call is probably the easiest route to more info.

Interesting that Chris felt that a 3 way design was required to flesh out the range in his lower end. I would have suspected that a baby Rev would have maybe been more of interest, but hey, that's just me.

I used to really love Chris's loudspeakers, from the very clean design through to the sound quality, although over the last five or more years, my tastes in both aesthetics and sound have changed quite considerably. One thing I do know, is that you can get a lot out of Image speakers if your amplification is really quite exceptional - a view which I am well aware is in contrast with that of many, but I find them quite unappealing when running on an AVR or lower end amplification. Put a pair of 412's on a Perreaux 350P, and they really do come alive ( although, to be fair, do so Wharfedale Diamond 9.6's ). Even something like an Audiant 80i makes them work quite well.

Do others find that they have had to pair Image gear with amplification which is of higher quality than other speakers of similar value?

Just as an aside, there is actually a pair of 412's in our bedroom, doing fine service, and these have been there for many years. I run them on a Eloquence 150i to good effect.

Chris has confirmed that he'll get us a set to review. Mr. Baker will be applying his ears to this demanding role :D

Hope Sir Andys amp is up to the job of the 4 ohm load. [unless that the min load...the swing could be 2ohm or less]

Looks like a nice speaker aesthetically. Looking forward to the review.
