Re: What Are You Spinning Right Now (Or Last Night)I've been away in Whakatane for the last few days enjoying the beaches but it's nice to be home.
I borrowed The Travelling Wilburys' first and third albums (on vinyl) from my father and listened to them this morning. I didn't enjoy them as much as I'd thought mostly because they aren't particularly good recordings as far as I can tell. I confirmed this (to my ears, anyway) by putting on Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew" (Columbia Records re-release on 180g vinyl) which sounded great. Now..... what to listen to next......? Unison Research, Well Tempered, Analog Instruments, Benz/Goldring, A23 SUT, Trichord, Spendor
Re: What Are You Spinning Right Now (Or Last Night)
I think it was Gary Steel who pointed out to me that the Wiburys' albums have a Jeff Lynne signature sound to them - kind of a modern super digital ELO. I don't have them on vinyl - the CDs are quite clear but have a lot happening at the top; the treble is noticeable, shall we say? I'm currently listening to Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense having just finished with The Cars - Heartbeat City, both on vinyl. Nice way to spend Sunday arvo.
