I'm listening to John Coltrane's A Love Supreme via the Squeezebox Duet at the moment ;)

Earlier:
Massive Attack - Blue Lines on CD (Yes I know, spinning the same disk again but this is sounding so good via the new preamp)

A few minutes ago:
Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty on iPhone/Shure e4c on the way to the dairy

Now listening to Tron Legacy by Daft Punk. It is actually quite an addictive listen

Fat Freddy's Drop - Raft (came with a free download too - your choice of lossy or lossless formats too!).

Hendrix - Electric Ladyland - 180 gm reissue. OK SQ, great music!

I've been away in Whakatane for the last few days enjoying the beaches but it's nice to be home.
I borrowed The Travelling Wilburys' first and third albums (on vinyl) from my father and listened to them this morning. I didn't enjoy them as much as I'd thought mostly because they aren't particularly good recordings as far as I can tell. I confirmed this (to my ears, anyway) by putting on Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew" (Columbia Records re-release on 180g vinyl) which sounded great. Now..... what to listen to next......? :?

I think it was Gary Steel who pointed out to me that the Wiburys' albums have a Jeff Lynne signature sound to them - kind of a modern super digital ELO. I don't have them on vinyl - the CDs are quite clear but have a lot happening at the top; the treble is noticeable, shall we say?

I'm currently listening to Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense having just finished with The Cars - Heartbeat City, both on vinyl. Nice way to spend Sunday arvo.

Sexy sounds this arvo all on vinyl:

Shelbey Lynne - Just A Little Lovin' (so damn sexy)
Ricki Lee Jones - Pirates (even sexier!)
EST - Leucocyte (the sexiest sounds you can imagine with your clothes on!)
Paul Ubana Jones - Paul Ubana Jones (well, this man oozes sex appeal, especially on vinyl  ).
