Weird versions

Has anyone out there got weird versions of albums on vinyl?
I'm currently working my way through a Jefferson Airplane biography, and discovered that my version of their 1969 album, Volunteers, is a quadrophonic version released in 1973, with not just different mixes but at least three songs featuring different recordings.
And apparently, it's rare as hen's teeth.
I remember importing it from the US in '73 or '74. It took at least three months to arrive, and because it traveled by ship over the equator, it was warped. I put it under a load of heavy books for about a year, and thenceforth in my collection - it slowly came right!

And also, did anyone here ever have a quadrophonic system? Any good?
