I show my age when I recall the wild gigs when he fronted the Enemy, with rough as guts mohawk and denim jacket with sleeves ripped off. I still have my mint 45 single of 'Rebel' with cool lyrics on the red and yellow sleeve and also the Toy Love album which is one of my few treasures because it was all I played for what seemed like years, Pull down the Shades will be one of many songs played at my funeral. When I did my OE I took a copy of the Toy Love album with me on cassette to play on my Walkman, the Walkie was stolen at a gym in LA so I sent the cassette to a radio station there called K-ROQ because I heard them play Leather Jacket by the Chills a few times and thought they must have had a soft spot for Kiwi music...that was 1987.
