Joan Armatrading NZ Dates

December 12, 2012

UK songstress Joan Armatrading is to perform two dates in NZ.
The first UK female singer/songwriter to have international success, Armatrading possesses a unique sound that ranges from jazz to true soul to sophisticated pop and reggae.
Armatrading’s notable work includes โ€˜Love And Affectionโ€™, โ€˜Show Some Emotionโ€™,โ€™ Drop The Pilotโ€™,โ€™ โ€˜Willowโ€™, and ‘Me Myself Iโ€™. She has received
countless gold, platinum and silver discs, featured in VH1โ€™s Top 100 voting poll as โ€˜The Most Influential Woman in Rockโ€™, and has been honoured by
the Queen, receiving an MBE.
Armatrading’s latest, jazz-flavoured release Starlight (2012), captures the very best of her songwriting talent with intimate songs that have a confession like quality.
Joining Armatrading for her Wellington show only is composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Taj Mahal. Inducted into the Blues Hall Of Fame in 2009, the two-time Grammyยฎ Award winnerโ€™s musical legacy counts him as one of the most prominent and influential figures in blues and roots music.
