Perreaux Announces Change Of Ownership

Legendary NZ hi-fi company Perreaux has a new owner, Edwin Nieman.

Martin van Rooyen, who has run the company since 1998 – having taken the legacy brand to a new generation of Kiwis through his successful marketing of the companyโ€™s entry level products through stores like Harvey Norman โ€“ says heโ€™s pleased the new owner is a well-respected local.

Edwin Nieman is โ€œa first-class Dunedin-based electronics engineer and owner of Kamahi Electronics. Kamahi is a highly successful electronics design and manufacturing facility with an extensive list of local and international clientele.

โ€œEdwin was born in The Netherlands, is a New Zealand residentย who is conversant in English, Dutch, Germanย and Spanish. He is also a very keen long distance runner, pilot and travels extensively.

โ€œEdwin and his team of 20 electronic engineers will bring an incredible depth of expertise to Perreaux and I’m in no doubt that he will successfully navigate the company through a next exciting chapter in it’s long history.โ€

Perreaux was founded by Peter Perreaux in the Hawkes Bay in 1974, and at first it was famous for its concert sound systems, and later, itโ€™s near-indestructable, built-like-tanks amplification, which it successfully marketed around the world.
