PNY Launches New GeForce RTX30 Ampre Pixel Pushers

September 3, 2020

PNY HAS is expanding its video card line up with a bunch of pixel pushers from NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 Series.

PNY’s RTX30

PNY’s XLR8 Gaming RTX 30 Series will come in three flavours. The high-end RTX 3090, mid-range RTX 3080 and affordable RTX 3070. All are powered by NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture. In non-techie speak, this should result in even better gaming realism thanks to real-time ray tracing. Gamers and hardcore PC modders will also find a lot to like. The new video cards will be overclockable using the bundled Velocity X software.

The GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs are the second generation of NVIDIA’s RTX line up. They come with new RT Cores, Tensor Cores and streaming multiprocessors, all of which help to generate jaw-dropping visuals and zippy frame rates.

Using NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture, the cards will deliver performance boosts of up to 1.9X performance-per-watt over the previous generations, and they will handle resolutions up to 8K with relative ease.

NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture

The new GPU’s being used in these top-tier cards have a pile of new hardware.ย  First and foremost are the transistors which have been shrunk, thanks to Samsung’s 8nm fabrication process. This is effectively a big (or smaller) jump from NVIDIA’s previous GPUS, which used TSMC’s 12nm fabrication process. Because the transistor densities have been increased, so has the number of CUDA cores and other hardware goodies.

Technological advancements present on the PNY XLR8 Gaming GeForce RTX 30 Series include real-time ray-tracing capabilities which allow for more realistic reflections and shadows. The new cards promise an uncannily realistic gaming experience.

In terms of overclocking and RGB customisation, the PNY XLR8 Gaming GeForce RTX 30 Series uses PNY’s VelocityX overclocking software. It allows for the customisation and monitoring of critical stats like core clock, memory clock, core temperature, fan speed, RGB lighting.
