Technics revs up with Lamborghini

Technics and Lamborghini get together on a hot new turntable project.

Technics has announced a special edition turntable called the SL-1200M7B to hit the shops this July. The big news is that the SL-1200M7B is a collaboration between Technics and Automobili Lamborghini.

โ€œWe are very excited to announce the launch of the SL-1200M7B direct drive turntable, a special-edition model born from our collaboration with Automobili Lamborghini,โ€ notes the Technics blurb.

The SL-1200M7B is based on the SL-1200MK7 and SL-1210MK7 DJ models from the SL-1200 turntable series, which have received international acclaim and popularity over the years.

The SL-1200M7B comes in three distinctive Lamborghini colours: yellow, orange and green, while the design is inspired by Automobili Lamborghiniโ€™s iconic Y-shape pattern.

โ€œThis partnership was driven from an alignment of values with both brands having a focus on technological development and an uncompromising approach to manufacturing, but also in the importance on sound,โ€ goes the blurb.ย  โ€œWhether it’s the rev of an engine or the clarity of a record playing, sound is an iconic part of the experience.โ€

Purchasers of the SL-1200M7B will be treated to an exclusive gift of a special printed vinyl record featuring the powerful engine and driving sounds of six different Lamborghini V12-engine super sports cars, recorded especially for this project: 400GT 2+2, Miura SV, 25th Anniversary Countach, Diablo 6.0 SE, Murciรฉlago LP 640, Revuelto.
The printed vinyl showcases the wheel of one of the Lamborghini’s latest models, the Revuelto. Owners of this special turntable can enjoy listening to the engine sounds as the wheel spins atop the turntable.

The SL-1200M7B turntable will also come with an Automobili Lamborghini slipmat and two stickers featuring the Automobili Lamborghini and Technics logos.
